Walking in Tipperary
Derryclooney Lodge is ideally located for walking
holidays in Ireland. Situated only 10 miles from the
beautifully scenic Glen of
Aherlow in the Galtee
Mountains. There are 8 different walks to choose
from, for beginners to the very experienced. Additional
guided walks are available during the summer months by prior

Knockmealdown Mountain - situated
between villages of Newcastle and Clogheen. The highlight of
this mountian range is the beautiful Vee Valley marking the
boundary between Tipperary and Waterford.
Slievenamon is
located 10 miles south of Clonmel and could be described as
the beginners mountain climb, from the top there are extensive
views of the surrounding mountain ranges.
Forest Walks - there
are many forest walks worthwhile visiting namely Glengarra
Woods (near Cahir) and Cahir Park, a walk of 2km along the
banks of the river Suir from Cahir to the Swiss Cottage.
Marl Bog
& Bishops Wood are both near the village of
Dundrum are worth visiting where duck and wildlife roam freely
on a lakeland setting.

Fishing in
Tipperary 
When you stay at
Derryclooney Lodge you can experience thay inner peace on our
1km stretch of the river Suir renowned for its TROUT Fishing
one of
Irelands
premier waterways. This secluded holiday home is only 400m
from the river bank with only the sound of birds singing and
the grazing of cows to interrupt you. You can also fish upriver towards Golden
along by Athassal Abby or downriver by the famous Swiss
Cottage in Cahir. However, you will need a day licence from
Golden - Cahir Angling Clubs which are available
locally.
